Dr. MacIlvaine gave a morning presentation to the Copley YMCA on Coping with Financial Stress. The small group actively discussed the aspects of stress and healthy coping strategies. Another group arrived in the middle of the talk, and Dr. MacIlvaine repeated the first half for them after completing the presentation the first time around. With both groups there was much discussion and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The coordinator, Liz Knepp, invited Dr MacIlvaine to return in January for an evening presentation of the same material.

Dr. MacIlvaine spoke to the STEM group (Sex Therapy, Education, and Medicine) at Alvarado Hospital in La Mesa, talking for an hour about her use of orgone therapy to treat sexual problems. The presentation was titled: "Increased Intimacy in Sexuality: Phantoms from the Nursery" and featured powerpoint slides with photographs to illustrate the important points, along with handouts including color miniatures of the slides. The main idea was that intimacy deficits from early childhood create armoring that continues intimacy deficits in adult sexual relationships.

Dr. MacIlvaine was a guest lecturer at Pacific School of Oriental Medicine, presenting a workshop, "Accumulating Qi." The workshop gave students of acupuncture a hands-on chance to build an accumulator pad and feel the soft energy that it provides. Dr. MacIlvaine discussed uses and cautions in using an accumulating device, as well a research findings on its use. There followed a discussion of orgonomy's and Traditional Chinese Medicine's differing perspective on life energy.

Dr. MacIlvaine was a guest on Channel Six's "San Diego Living," discussing the recent disclosure by actor David Duchovny that he was entering rehab for sexual addiction. The brief segment will be posted on this website in the near future.

Dr. MacIlvaine again presented her two-hour public talk on the topic of "The Emotional Plague." The talk included numerous illustrations of her points by the use of video clips played on a television monitor. Afterwards, there was lively discussion.

Dr. MacIlvaine presented a two-hour public talk at her office on the topic of "The Emotional Plague." The talk included numerous illustrations of her points by the use of video clips played on a television monitor. The audience included a man and his father, significant for the day being Father's Day. Attendees participated a great deal, getting to know one another and adding many relevent points. They showed a genuine appreciation of the video clips.

Dr. MacIlvaine presented a two-hour public talk at her office on the topic of "The Emotional Plague." Dr. MacIlvaine was not able to use her computer-television link and therefore acted out the scenes scenes she had wanted to present. The improvisations were successful and well-received. This was the first use of her office waiting room for a public educational lecture. Attendees enjoyed getting to know one another and build a basic understanding of the emotional plague.

Dr. MacIlvaine presented a two-hour public talk on "Wilhelm Reich and Orgone Energy." Attendance was slight, but the lecture came alive with Dr. MacIlvaine's passion and knowledge about the subject.

Dr. MacIlvaine narrated a slide show on Emotion and Artistic Expression at the Bonita Museum in Bonita, California. The program was free to the public. Attendance was good, and the audience expressed appreciation.
